TSS TO OPEN NEW INDOOR SOCCER FACILITY

With the closing of Sportstown BC, academy now charts its own course

TSS Academy is pleased to announce its long awaited relocation. Come September 1, 2016, BC’s most established soccer academy will be moving programming to its own 20,000 square foot indoor soccer facility in Richmond BC. As part of the Drummond Club, a unique private athletic and leisure facility on Savage Road (off No. 6 Road), TSS will be joining other recreational businesses such as the Patrick Chan Elite Figure Skating School, as well as a premier badminton centre.

“We’re thrilled to be part of this new sport facility,” says TSS co-owner Brendan Quarry. “It’s been a long search to find the right home for the Academy. We have over 600 families who make TSS a regular part of their soccer experience. We’re so pleased that we will be able to continue providing that experience well into the future.”

The new indoor soccer facility will be named TSS Soccer Centre and will house the academy’s weekend supplementary training program which comprises over 500 players from across the Lower Mainland. The soccer facility will also be home to TSS FC, the full-time program for 120 players who train and play with TSS exclusively in a year-round season.

“TSS has always been about technical excellence,” says TSS co-owner and co-founder Colin Elmes. “Training indoors in small-sided game environments has been the staple of what we do at the academy for almost 19 years. The new TSS Soccer Centre will perfectly suit our needs in that regard as we continue building towards the future.”

The Drummond Club will be a destination for many athletes looking to hone their craft. Named after the Drummond family, which has a 100-year heritage in Greater Vancouver and includes entrepreneur Dennis Drummond and his wife Elizabeth, the Drummond Club will be built on land Drummond currently owns on Savage Road in Richmond.

“We couldn’t be happier to have TSS as one of our anchor tenants,” says Dennis Drummond. “This new sports complex is about excellence so having the province’s most reputable soccer academy at the Drummond Club is more than fitting.”

The new TSS Soccer Centre will also offer space rentals for adult and youth groups, many of whom have been training and playing at Sportstown for years. Additionally, there will be indoor leagues for both adult and youth players. Many of the details will be forthcoming over the next few months.

During the spring and summer, TSS Academy will be in transition as it prepares for the opening of the new soccer centre. Existing Sportstown customers will be contacted and given priority to book space at the TSS Soccer Centre for the fall. Existing academy members will also be given priority to register for the fall program as space will be limited.

“There are very few indoor soccer facilities in the Lower Mainland,” continues Quarry. “The new TSS Soccer Centre will be a top notch facility. We anticipate that bookings and leagues will fill up quickly. There are a number of customers at Sportstown who have held onto their recurring booking for over 10 years.”

TSS will be contacting its academy members shortly with details on the transition. For more information contact:
