Sweet Valentine Radio

As many of you know, the Whitecaps men's team has made it to the USL-1 finals against the Montreal Impact. The first leg of the series will be taking place this Saturday, October 10 at Swanguard Stadium. What does this have to do with TSS? Well, our very own Carl Valentine will be calling both matches of the two-leg championship series on TEAM 1040 Sports Radio.

Most of our young players here at TSS know Carl as the director of our boys program. But from 1979-1984, Carl played for the Vancouver Whitecaps in the legendary North American Soccer League (NASL). Over his career, Carl played against players such as Michel Platini, Franz Beckenbauer, and Johann Cruyff. Few players in this country, if any, have had that kind of distinction. Carl also played 31 times for Canada including the 1986 World Cup in Mexico - the only time Canada has ever played on the game's biggest world stage.

You can tune into Carl's commentary starting at 6:00pm (PDT) this Saturday on Team 1040 Sports Radio. Carl will also fly to Montreal later in the week to call the second leg of the series. This will begin airing at 11:00 am (PDT) on Saturday, October 17.

Enjoy the games.
