Baker Blast 2008

Like every year, TSS entered a variety of academy teams into the Baker Blast tournament in Bellingham, Washington. The tournament was a great success, despite the exceptionally hot conditions.
The U12 girls, under Brendan Quarry, emerged as tournament winners as they defeated the U12 North Shore Impact in the final 5-0. The U12 girls won every game in the Copa Division, defeating two teams from Emerald City FC and one team from Mukilteo FC. The team has now completed their program for the summer.
The U12 girls, under Colin Elmes, went down to defeat in the semi-finals against WFC Rangers 1-0. The U12 girls competed in the Premier Division where they posted a respectable record of 2 wins, 1 tie, and 1 loss. The team now continues its preparation for the Pats Cup in California at the end of July.
The U17 girls, under Rob Dattilo, went down to defeat in the semi-finals against SSC Falcons 3-2. It was a heartbreaking loss after the TSS team saw themselves up 2-0. The team now continues its preparation for the Pats Cup in California.
The U12 boys team, under Carl Valentine, captured the tournament trophy after a tense penalty shoot-out against the BC Summer Games team. The U12 boys won every game in the Premier Division, defeating teams such as the Victoria Capitals, WFC Rangers, ISC Arsenal, and Whalley PSV. Many of the players will now continue on with preparation for the Pats Cup in California.
The U12 boys team, under Wesley Barrett, were unable to emerge from the qualifying round of play. The team competed valiantly in the Premier Division but were unable to overcome some very stiff competition. The team has now completed their program for the summer.
